Some Tuesday Ins and Outs.............OWS General Strike Oakland Ca. November 2, 2011

FIRST THINGS FIRST.........

"Fact Of The Matter" myself and gbicknola do not speak for OWS. I do however, stand in Solidarity with them.

TOMORROW IN OAKLAND CA.............

marks a day which, I'm hoping, will have an extreme effect here in California and be followed by many other general full on strikes throughout this Country. I'm hoping there will not only be general strikes from city to city. I'm hoping there will be as National Strike. Something that will affect the Financial Industry and the Government profoundly. Something that will cause them to more than take notice. Something that will cause them to actually take note, perhaps sit down with OWS, and Union Leadership, the 99% etc. Something that perhaps this 112th GOP led Congress will see as the people of this Nation and our general displeasure with this status quo in Wall St/Washington "3 Card Monte" game. Something will drive them into the realization that this is the proper and correct time for this conversation. So they understand that America and the World "Can't Wait" on the politics of "If you pay we'll act.

FROM THE WEEKLY STANDARD ........

"......This morning, House minority leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said the protests on Wall Street are "justified" and that the status quo in Washington is "unacceptable."

"I think any criticism of the status quo and the establishment, it’s justified," Pelosi said to reporters at the Capitol. "I commend [Occupy Wall Street protesters] for being outspoken.

Pelosi said the message of Occupy Wall Street is clear: "The status quo is unacceptable and unsustainable for keeping a strong middle class, which is essential to our democracy."

Democrats, including Pelosi and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, have attempted to align themselves with the Occupy Wall Street protesters. House Democratic party caucus chairman John Larson (D-Conn.) said this morning that the protests are "borne primarily out of the desire to see their government respond to the simple dignity that comes from a job

FROM OCCUPY WALL ST ..............

Below is the proposal passed by the Occupy Oakland General Assembly on Wednesday October 26, 2011 in reclaimed Oscar Grant Plaza. 1607 people voted. 1484 voted in favor of the resolution, 77 abstained and 46 voted against it, passing the proposal at 96.9%. The General Assembly operates on a modified consensus process that passes proposals with 90% in favor and with abstaining votes removed from the final count.

"......Propuesta

We as fellow occupiers of Oscar Grant Plaza propose that on Wednesday November 2, 2011, we liberate Oakland and shut down the 1%.

We propose a city wide general strike and we propose we invite all students to walk out of school. Instead of workers going to work and students going to school, the people will converge on downtown Oakland to shut down the city.

All banks and corporations should close down for the day or we will march on them.

While we are calling for a general strike, we are also calling for much more. People who organize out of their neighborhoods, schools, community organizations, affinity groups, workplaces and families are encouraged to self organize in a way that allows them to participate in shutting down the city in whatever manner they are comfortable with and capable of.

The whole world is watching Oakland. Let’s show them what is possible

MY HOPE IS...........

that this event will trigger a chain reaction that puts not only Wall St. on notice, but also all of those that represent "the powers that be". MLK once stated,

".......Another thing that we had to get over was the fact that the nonviolent resister does not seek to humiliate or defeat the opponent but to win his friendship and understanding....."
